TOTP Generator is a free, open-source tool designed to make two-factor authentication (2FA) more accessible and secure for everyone.
We believe that security should be simple and accessible. Two-factor authentication is one of the most effective ways to protect your online accounts, but many users find it difficult to set up and manage. Our mission is to provide a reliable, easy-to-use TOTP generator that works entirely in your browser, with no downloads, no accounts, and no data collection.
We noticed that many existing TOTP generator tools have limitations: some require server-side processing, others lack QR code scanning, and many don't support all the algorithms and configurations that different services require. We built TOTP Generator to be the most complete, privacy-first solution available.
Our tool implements the RFC 6238 standard for Time-based One-Time Passwords using the Web Crypto API. All cryptographic operations happen in your browser — your secret keys never leave your device. We use HMAC-SHA-1, HMAC-SHA-256, and HMAC-SHA-512 algorithms, support 6 and 8 digit codes, and allow custom time periods from 1 to 120 seconds.
TOTP Generator is built with modern web technologies including Astro, Tailwind CSS, and vanilla JavaScript. We believe in transparency and welcome contributions from the community.
